    Ms. Rina Suzuki

    【Profile】

Since joining Shinkosya in 2015, she has been engaged in process design and new product launch activities within the technical division. In 2016, she provided technical support to the company’s subsidiary in Mexico, gaining a global perspective on manufacturing operations.

From June 2020, she participated in the establishment of the DX Promotion Office and has since led various DX initiatives. Leveraging her hands-on experience in manufacturing environments, she promotes fundamental business transformation that goes beyond the mere introduction of IT tools, focusing on improving core operational processes.

    【Abstract】

Shinkosya has advanced field-oriented digital transformation (DX) in its plating operations to tackle paper-based management, dependence on individual expertise, and the limited use of accumulated data. Rather than investing in large or expensive systems, the company adopted a practical, phased approach using free digital tools to digitalize and visualize key data such as daily reports, inspection records, quality metrics, and production performance.

This effort made defect trends clearly visible, reduced response time, and accelerated continuous improvement cycles, resulting in higher yield. It also lowered environmental impact through reduced paper use and more efficient chemical management. Data visualization further encouraged a cultural shift toward objective, data-driven decision-making.

This lecture outlines Shinkosya’s step-by-step DX journey and provides practical, reproducible methods that other plating companies can apply to achieve sustainable and realistic DX.
