What is a Radio Isotope Battery?
A Radio Isotope (RI) battery converts the heat released during radioactive decay into electricity.
This technology is already used internationally in space probes and deep-sea exploration, where replacing power sources is impossible.
In Japan, we use Americium (Am) to build RI batteries, offering maintenance-free, semi-permanent energy for decades.

It is a biodegradable cellulose sponge material with many pores of several hundred micrometers, with excellent water permeability and material permeability. These pores can hold and adsorb any kind of powder in high dispersion, and depending on the material, the inner space can be used as a reaction field. In addition, the material can be easily chemically modified to provide a variety of functions. This new material can be used for a wide range of applications in the environmental, nuclear, biotechnology, and energy fields.

We have developed a high-performance adsorbent material using food waste bones - classified as industrial waste - as the raw material. This innovative material effectively captures hazardous substances such as strontium, cadmium, and lead, boasting approximately 20 times the adsorption performance compared to conventional natural zeolite adsorbents.
