    【Profile】

Dr. Shigeo Maruyama, FRSC, received his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 1988, and has been a distinguished professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo since 2014. He is engaged in research on nanoscale thermal engineering, molecular dynamics simulations, carbon nanotubes, graphene, one-dimensional heterostructures, solar cell applications, etc. He served as the president of the "The Fullerene, Nanotubes, and Graphene Research Society" from 2011 to 2020. He is also the co-chair of the steering committee of the international conference series NT.

    【Abstract】

The synthesis, purification, characterization, and application of single-walled carbon nanotubes are reviewed, and the possibility of one-dimensional van der Waals heterostructures consisting of boron nitride nanotubes and transition metal dichalcogenide nanotubes concentrically formed on the outer layer of a single-walled carbon nanotube is discussed.

    【Abstract】

Without special pretreatment, commercially available SWCNT, 0.3% concentration, IPA or CMC-containing aqueous solution, can be processed in one pass at a pressure of 100 Mpa without plugging the 0.09 mm nozzle. The flow rate is 200 liters/minute. Because it is not crushing, CNTs are defibrillated without destroying them. Therefore, high aspect ratio and high G/D ratio can be maintained. It is impossible to pass 85% pure SWCNTs through a 0.09mm nozzle in a single pass with only manual agitation as a pretreatment using conventional technology. The reason is because of the DMR system and Beryu system. From the viewpoint of cost-effectiveness, this system will become the world standard when CNTs are defibrillated. 100 Mpa, 0.09 mm nozzle, 1 pass, purity 85% SWCNTs, flow rate 200 cc/min, high aspect ratio maintenance, high G/D ratio maintenance, these keywords are enough.
