【Profile】

He Joined Fuji Xerox Co.,(currently Fujifilm Business Innovation Corporation) and has engaged in research on continuous inkjet, thermal inkjet head and system technology, inkjet technology applications including 3D printers, and 3D data handling. In 2016, he proposed a new 3D data format FAV in collaboration with Keio University. Currently, he is extending the dimension of his research area to 4D printing. He received the Johannes Gutenberg Award in 2019 and the President's Special Award of the Imaging Society of Japan in 2021.

【Abstract】

The inkjet market and technology development trends have changed dramatically over the past decade. Specifically, the inkjet market has expanded from a paper-based market to a market that handles media other than paper, including the industrial printing market, commercial printing market, and digital fabrication market. At the same time, technological development had to evolve in directions other than the conventional market axes of image quality and printing speed, and technological evolution drove market expansion (change).
In this seminar, the relationship between market changes and technological development trends will be explained, taking into account the circumstances behind both. The seminar will also discuss several noteworthy technological trends and their impact on the market in the future.
