Samarium-cobalt micro-magnet

Technology & Intellectual Property HQ in TDK Corp. developed special samarium-cobalt magnet film which is about 0.1 mm in thickness. On top of its unique thickness, this film is formable on the complicated surface as our special fabrication technology utilize liquid during the deposition. Furthermore, its magnetic property is comparable to the conventional sintered samarium-cobalt bulk magnet. Using this magnet, we made prototype micro-motor of 1.5 mm in diameter, which can rotate at 1000 rpm.
