【Abstract】
S-Nanotech Co-Creation Co., Ltd. developed near UV nanoparticle coated LEDs using nitrogen doped ZnO nanoparticles that show p-type behavior. ZnO is safety and low-cost material that is also used for baby powders. These devices don’t need the expensive single crystal substrates and that can be applied by simple methods in the atmosphere such as printing. Moreover, white and RGB emission are possible in combination with phosphors and these devices have advantages in flexibility to realize large area emission and smaller pixel area than micro-LEDs. Nanoparticle based LEDs have expected as disruptive innovation that surpass the existing singe crystal-based LEDs in cost, process, and applications.
S-Nanotech Co-Creation is university originated venture company started a business based on the seeds from nanotech co-creation in Shimane University. We are aiming to make disruptive innovations form regional area by using unique seeds such as nanoparticle coated LEDs.
