Ignite your soul, not the Earth
The GPSS Group is a group of companies with a wide range of renewable energy businesses, including solar power, wind, small and medium-sized hydro, geothermal, and biogas. As well as incorporates project structuring, investment management, engineering, and energy resource surveys/assessments.
GPSS is engaged in the development of sustainable energy through joint ventures with local communities by incorporating three aspects.
(1) Putting local sustainability first
(2) Development strategy reflecting local needs
(3) Knowledge and experience in five power sources
Solar Power Plant and Solar Sharing
The GPSS Group owns numerous solar power plants all over the country. We also have vast construction experience for special high voltage and large-scale power plants of 10 MW or more.
In addition, we are a member of the "Oshamambe Local Agribusiness Joint Venture", a industry-government-academia collaborated project that promotes Oshamambe's regional revitalization.
We are also striving to put more effort in utilizing solar sharing. For instance, developing Japan's first cacao cultivation besides a traditional grass field with solar sharing.
Geothermal Power Generation
We own and operate geothermal power plants in three locations, which are located in Miyagi, Oita, and Niigata in collaboration with the local communities. We are also proactively exploring different types of heat generators other than geothermal heat to effectively utilize the thermal heat without any waste. For example, we introduced Sanko Binary Power Plant, a binary power generator that utilizes industrial waste heat.
Further we are partnering with overseas companies with advanced technologies as the importer to offer cost-efficiency and reduced lead time for our potential clients in the geothermal industry.

Small and medium-sized Hydroelectric Power Plant
Our strength lies in our extensive development capabilities, which not only provide one-stop services from project development to operation but also our consultation service for each phase.
The Sukawagawa Small Hydro-Power Plant in Gunma Prefecture, which is under construction with local community, is utilizing an agricultural canal.
We have acquired the Class A river water right from Gunma prefecture, which is the first time amongst the private companies to achieve. Through our collaborative projects, we will support the regional sustainability, e.g. distribution of electricity sales revenue, job creation, environmental education for children, water utilization, and emergency power sources.
Wind Power Plant
We are currently conducting a joint feasibility study with the Higashi-Izu Town in order to rebuild the existing windmills with advanced technologies to produce more efficient power generation.
Currently, we are conducting data analysis of wind conditions in various sites around Japan using the "SODAR", a Swedish remote wind sensing device that is used to measure wind speed at various heights to determine the best possible wind power generation to maximize the energy.
Engineering
GPSS Engineering is a company with comprehensive capabilities in design, procurement, construction, and operation & management of all sustainable energy power plants. With flexible and agile mobility, we also propose business models that utilize advanced overseas technologies to improve project quality while reducing costs.
We are also well experienced in complicated and time-consuming government application procedures. In addition, we have the know-how for remote monitoring for further maintenance in all power plant types.
Our engineers are pioneers in their respective fields and have been certified by the Japanese national qualification license.
[Consulting] "HT GEST", Cutting-edge water treatment & digestate liquid concentration technology
HT GEST, a cutting-edge technology from Italy that is known for offering an effortless solution for all digestate after fermentation, which has been a significant hindrance to the popularization of biogas power generation. This technology produces two types of liquid after the solid-liquid separation: (1) "RO membrane permeate", which is cleaner and more transparent than river water that does not have any negative impact when it's mouthed into rivers, and (2) "liquid fertilizer", that has almost no solids or odor and is richer in fertilizer components. Most importantly, it is inevitably cost-efficient and sustainable than throwing away digestate every time.
Geo Science (GSE) Underground resource research and consulting
GSE specializes in the fields of geology, geophysics, geochemistry, agronomy, biogas, etc., and provide one-stop services ranging from preliminary research to interpretation and consulting through data collection and processing.
In addition, we are partnering with Mira Geoscience, a Canadian Geological & Geophysical software and consulting service company which is introducing advanced 3D earth modeling software in the Japanese market.
All Mira Geoscience’s products can be purchased from GSE directly with documentation in both Japanese and English.

[Product] TICA's binary generator "PC280"
In April 2016, Geothermal Development Co., Ltd. (GDI), a member of the GPSS Group, signed a dealer agreement with TICA. One of the technologies of TICA that we introduce is PC280. A binary generator that has been proven to have stable and high operating rates all over the world. Designed and manufactured by a major US jet engine manufacturer, the radial inflow turbines have the highest level of efficiency and stability in the market. It is also installed in our geothermal power plants in we collaborated with the local communities.

[Product] Air-cooled cooling tower supplied by LUVE Group
In June 2020, Geothermal Development Co., Ltd. (GDI) signed a distributor agreement with LU-VE GROUP. LU-VE Group is an Italian international company that boasts a high global market share in the fields of heat exchange for industrial cooling, refrigeration, and air-conditioning. The patented structure of the air-cooled cooling tower effectively lowers the temperature of the water. Even in an event of one fan shuts down, the remaining fans function properly without distruption and maintain their performance. Heat exchange tubes and special aluminum combined in optimal proportions to (1) improve performance, (2) reduce power consumption, and (3) reduce operating noise.
