【Abstract】
At DRC, we conduct human safety studies including patch tests and stinging tests. Patch tests evaluate primary skin irritation such as erythema and edema, while stinging tests assess transient sensory irritation like tingling or burning sensations.
In this presentation, we report the results of approximately 8,000 patch tests and 800 stinging tests conducted over the past ten years. Based on these data, we analyzed trends in irritation potential across various formulation types, including aqueous solutions, creams, and cleansing agents.
The findings of this analysis allow for a comparative understanding of irritation levels by formulation type. This information can be used to support safety assessment and risk management in product development.
