Yuriko Iwano has been engaged in the research of pharmaceutical raw materials using enzyme synthesis methods derived from microorganisms at a Japanese chemical manufacturer’s research institute. Subsequently, she worked as a microbiology specialist at a foreign cosmetics manufacturer, where she contributed to the safety and quality improvement of products through proposals related to preservatives in cosmetics. Since 2025, she has been serving as a Technical Service Manager at Evonik Japan, where she is responsible for providing technical support to customers and optimizing products.
【Abstract】
As a pioneer in enzymatic emollients, Evonik has established 25 years of expertise and a global production system. We will introduce eight enzymatic emollients for the growing clean beauty market. These emollients are 100% naturally derived, highly biodegradable, and manufactured in an environmentally friendly way. They have different physical properties and functionalities, and can be used in various cosmetics, such as skin care, hair care, sun care, color cosmetics, and deodorants. We will also introduce examples of CO2 emission reduction that can be achieved by using enzymatic emollients, as well as examples of their application in various formulations.

Originally from Taiwan, David Wang moved to Japan in 2008 to join a European chemical company. For over 10 years, he has been engaged in domestic sales of cosmetic ingredients, including pearl pigments, UV filters, and functional materials, gaining experience in handling Tier-1 cosmetic companies. He joined Evonik Japan Co., Ltd. in 2022 and has been in his current position since May 2024.
【Abstract】
Evonik has established itself as a pioneer in the large-scale production of high-quality, sustainable biosurfactants, "Glycolipids (Rhamnolipids)". Rhamnolipids are produced using 100% renewable raw materials through a bio-fermentation process that emits low levels of CO2. Rhamnolipids have excellent foaming, cleansing and solubilizing properties, and can be used in a wide range of cosmetics, such as shampoos, body soaps, and facial cleansers. We will introduce examples of the excellent functionality and eco-profile that can be achieved by using Evonik's rhamnolipids, as well as examples of their application in various formulations.

As a leading company in the field of ceramides, Evonik offers human skin identical ceramides that are compliant with quasi-drugs. In addition to selling four types of pure ceramides and a ceramide cocktail that is easy to formulate, we also have a wide range of products, from functional ceramides with biological activity to water-soluble encapsulated ceramides. This year, Evonik is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its ceramide business. We will be providing information on our company's past and future directions.
